Pronounciation advice

What is this and for whom is this?

A conversation about your pronunciation, where you can share your experiences with and questions about pronunciation for us to joinly search for strategies to help you. It is an offer for students having difficulties with noticing and understanding similarities and differences in german spoken language and who wants to strategically develop their pronunciation

What do we do here?

First you can tell about your expectations and needs: What is difficult for you, where do you need our support? We will speak about your learning biography: Which languages with their particular pronunciation have you learned? Can your experiences help you anyhow with pronouncing german language?

Through audio recordings we give you direct feedback for your pronunciation and define core themes you want to work more on. We experiment with different strategies with which you can improve your pronunciation, for example with music or videos. You can try out these strategies at home and tell us, which one you like and which not. As you are the center of our counselling and decide the course of the advice sessions.

How does it benefit me?

Our pronunciation is an important part of our everyday life as well as our communication at work or in university. You will get to know strategies that can help you improve your pronunciation. Due to the individual feedback you will understand in detail which parts of your pronunciation are good already, and which can be improved through training.

Who is participating?

The conselling is held in individual sessions. You and your advisor participate. If you wish, you can participate together with a partner. Only you and your advisor participate.
