Accommodation:
Exchange students coming with ERASMUS+ or partnership programme
The Accommodation Service of the university`s Welcome Centre helps exchange students coming with Erasmus+ or a partnership programme to find accommodation.
However, they can allocate only a limited number of student rooms.
Depending on availability, there are the following accommodation options for exchange students:
● Halls of Residence of the Studentenwerk (Student Services)
● Private halls of residence
● Accommodation offers from the private housing market

The rooms in the student halls of residence are plain single bedrooms. Usually you need to share the bathroom and kitchen facilities with your fellow hall mates/flat mates (German and international students).

Students who would like to be picked up from the train station or bus station upon their arrival in Göttingen may take advantage of the so-called "Exchange Buddy Service" of the International Office. Students who have to rent a room from the Studentenwerk will also be given their keys upon arrival. Further information:

External participants
Unfortunately, we cannot organise a room for external participants (participants who come for the language course only). If you cannot stay with friends or family, you need to look for accommodation by yourself. We recommend to look for an intermediate/temporary rent/sublet ("Zwischenmiete"), i.e. using the following websites:
