German Language Courses for international students, employees and visiting scholars
Small learning groups of 5 to 15 participants per half-level. Intercultural exchange with students from all over the world- Experienced lecturers who also teach at university
- Face-to-face in-classroom courses on the campus of Göttingen University. Some of the evening courses can also be joined online (hybrid format).
- Each language course covers one half-level and you will receive a certificate with credit points upon successfully completing the course.
- 6 credit points (ECTS) - you can get the language course acknowledged at Göttingen University.
- The courses are also open to other people (aged 16 years and above): You don't need to study or work at the University of Göttingen in order to take part in the German language courses.
- You practice grammar and all language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing on the basis of the GER (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)

International Summer Course August 2026 (lecture-free period):
● 03 - 28 August 2026: Summer German Course incl. extracurricular activities (day trips, optional language tutorials, and more)
4 lessons in the morning, a total of 80 lessons:
Mondays-Fridays 9:15-12:45 CEST including a break of 30 minutes
course fee: € 750 incl. course books and supporting programme / discount for students and employees of Göttingen University

Evening Courses
twice a week in the evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. (18:00-20:30 = 3 lessons and a break of 15 minutes)
depending on the half-level: 16 / 24 sessions => total of 48 / 72 lessons
