German for international students

German Language Courses for international students, employees and visiting scholars

  • Small learning groups of 7 to 14 participants per half-level. Intercultural exchange with students from all over the world
  • Experienced lecturers who also teach at university.
  • Each language course covers one half-level and you will receive a certificate with credit points upon successfully completing the course. If there is enough demand, all half-levels (A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2, B1.1, B1.2, B2.1, B2.2 and C1.1) are offered.
  • 6 credit points (ECTS) - you can get the language course acknowledged at Göttingen University.
  • The courses are also open to other people (aged 16 years and above): You don't need to study or work at the University of Göttingen in order to take part in the German language courses.
  • Depending on the month we offer different course formats:
►Online Courses: These courses are only offered as online courses (live video-conferences).
►Face-to-face / In-classroom courses (offline): These courses can only be attended in a classroom in Göttingen..
►Hybrid courses: These courses take place offline in a classroom in Göttingen. However, you can also choose to attend the courses online via live-stream. (Please choose between offline and online attendance when registering.)
  • You practice grammar and all language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing on the basis of the GER (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
  • All offline/face-to-face courses include a programme of extracurricular activities (optional language tutorials, free time activities, and day trips). The extracurricular activities are included in the course fee.
