EVENING COURSES FOR PROFESSIONALS
twice a week in the evening: 6:00-8:30 p.m. (18:00–20:30)
one half-level in 2 - 3 months: 48 / 72 lessons
(= 16 / 24 sessions of 3 lessons each, including a break of 15 minutes)
location: on-site courses on the campus of Göttingen University
hybrid option: We offer the B2.2 evening course starting 28 October 2025, as a hybrid course – participation is possible on-site or online.
learning environment: qualified teachers, interactive methods, international groups with 8-16 participants
course fee: € 330 / € 495 for one half-level course
Target group & certificate
Our evening courses are aimed at working professionals (i.e. university employees), students, and anyone who wants to study in the evening.
At the end of each course, you will receive an official IIK certificate documenting your language proficiency at the CEFR level (e.g., B1.1, B1.2, B2.1, B2.2). The certificate is recognized by the University of Göttingen.
Focus
The evening courses are general language oriented, with selected professional language components.
- In the basic level courses (A1, A2) general language textbooks (e.g. Netzwerk neu) are used.
- From B1/B2 onwards, professional language scenarios are specifically incorporated (e.g., job interviews, email correspondence, team communication).
- This combination teaches both everyday language skills and initial language confidence for professional settings.
The evening courses are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and build your language level step by step. However, they are suitable for exam preparation only to a limited extend; those who want to specifically prepare for a standardized exam (e.g., telc, DSH) should choose our intensive courses.
